The Somali National University (SNU) has successfully concluded its annual conference on “Higher Education in Post-Conflict Societies” in Mogadishu on July 25, 2019. The conference which normally takes place every year was the third of its kind. The presenters were diverse with different topics such as, mental health, ICT, maternal health, waste management, peace and conflict resolution, poverty reduction, curriculum development and more.
The conference has attracted more scholars than last year and is proving more popular with Somali scholars within the country and abroad year after year, it also attracted many foreign scholars as well.
Participants from other universities were in attendance such as, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of Vaal University of Technology (South Africa), Professor Gordon Zide and the Vice Chancellor of International University of Afirca (Sudan), Prof. Kamal Mohammed Obaid. Both universities have close working relationship with Somali National University.
The rector of Somali National University Prof. Mohamed Ahmed Jimale, thank all the scholars who presented their research papers and requested them to participate in future conferences.
