Overview:
This One-year postgraduate diploma provides students with advanced training in epidemiology and biostatistics and their application in analyzing major Health issue in Somalia. The program is open to all students with background training in health related or quantitative discipline. Graduates will have the opportunity to develop or strengthen their ability to participate in outbreak investigations as well as manage and analyze large public health surveillance data using modern statistical software.
Course objectives
On completion of the Graduate Diploma, graduates will have attained the required skills for employment as an Epidemiologist and Biostatistician. This course allows graduates to:
- To determine basic epidemiological and Bio-statistical terms
- To conduct Quantitative and qualitative Public Health research
- To explain epidemiological studies
- To apply advanced statistical data analyzing
- To identify endemic diseases and list of notifiable disease
- To acquire Integrated disease surveillance system and response
- To discuss chronic diseases and mental health states in Somalia
- To analyze data using STATA and R statistical software

Admission Requirements:
- Holders of a first degree in health related disciplines of upper second class or above from a University recognized by the Somali National University Senate.
- Copy of your Degree (Must be accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education/ Waa iney ka tasdiiqsanaataa Wasaradda Waxbarashada Soomaaliya
- Copy of your Passport or Birth Certificate/ Koobi baasaboor ama dhalasho iyo sugnaan
- Statement of Purpose (English Only)/ Maxaa kugu riixayya in aad soo codsata program-ka
- Four passport photos (Afar Sawir oo Teeysaro ah)
- File (Gal kusoorid documents kaas oo dhan)
